What-Makes-You-Happy Project (14): Shekhar, India

No man is a single island. We are born in a society with multiple roles attached, thus we are bound by responsibilities entailed by the roles. A daughter, a son, a student, an employee, a girl/ boy friend, etc. They are at times entangled, overlapped.

It is good to be free from the insitutionalized life, to do whatever we want to do regardless of what others think, yet a lot of times, a sense of guilt will emerge when failing to fulfil the perceived the roles and responsibilities. Free from self-tourture is a form of happiness too, tho it can be at the expanse of personal pleasure.

How draw a fine balance between personal pleasure and cooperate well-beings is an ever intriguing task.
