What-Makes-You-Happy Project: Special (3) Sapney Farm, Auroville

I stayed in Sapney farm in Auroville, where the owner experiments permaculture. Basically, it intends to explore sustainable farming by turning a dessert-like land into arable land again.

They try to create a man-made forest with different layers of vegetation. The ultimate outcome will be with least energy and human effort, the little forest can produce food to people dwelling in it.

In this farm, they practice organic farming, they use compose toilet, biodegradable soap; They also categorize garbage.

They work closely with villagers nearby as well, teaching them to follow similar practices. They encourage villagers give cow shits and composed kitchen trash to the farm.

Of course, they love being connected so wifi is provided.

Apart from getting to know the concept of Permaculture, I specially am graceful to have met so many cool people through the stay.
